Congratulations to last month's First Security Leadership Award Recipient: Harrison Baker!
Harrison recently served as chairman of the FFA Conduct of Chapter Meetings Team where his team won 1st place in sub-area and 1st place in District contests. Harrison also qualified for district competition by placing in the top 16 in FFA Knowledge. Harrison went on and placed 2nd at the District level in FFA knowledge with oral questions. Harrison will compete in state competition in Hot Springs in April in both Conduct of Chapter meetings and in FFA knowledge. These 2 contests are Leadership Career Development Events and Harrison has excelled!. Harrison is also a great leader when he is needed to help a classmate or teacher in other areas regardless of if it is in the classroom, shop or livestock facilities both in and outside of class.

Bomber Families,
We have been closely following the radar and collecting updates from the National Weather Service regarding the impending winter storm. Our county is officially under a winter storm warning. Now that we have a clearer picture of what the next couple of days will look like, I wanted to share our plan with you.
We will release students from school at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, and there will be no school on Friday, January 10.
I know a 1:30 p.m. closure is inconvenient for some, but my top concern is ensuring our kids and staff get home safely, and this early release should allow for that.
As you know, these types of storms are ever-changing, and so there is still a possibility we will have to adjust the early release time. If we need to make changes to this plan, I will let you know as soon as that decision is made.
For now, If you have alternate plans for your young children on early release days, please make sure their teachers are aware so that adjustments can be made tomorrow. Remember that when we release early, our Flight Crew program is not open, so please make your children's teachers aware of how they will be getting home.
Thank you for your continued patience and support. If things change, I will reach out to you all through the normal channels, but I am hopeful that this plan allows us as much instructional time as possible while also ensuring enough time is allowed for safe travel.
Allyson Dewey

Inclement weather reminders:
1. If we must cancel or delay school, we will do our best to do it the night before, but that is not always possible.
2. If a decision is made to cancel school for any reason, we will notify you through a phone call, text message, and a social media post. We will also notify local media.
3. You will never need to rely on rumors or social media speculation with regards to school closures/delays. We let our families know AS SOON AS the decision is made.
4. Snow routes might need to be used at some point for our students who ride buses. Those routes are available here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1fRlENdg-GdHjW5P6520tVWk8hoLnazsr

The Mountain Home Public Schools food service department received a substantial donation this holiday season from FOP Lodge #45. This money was used to pay off multiple students' meal balances. We are so thankful for local groups that are always thinking of our students!
