a graphic that says "an update from Dr. Jake Long"

This week we had three positive cases of COVID-19 in the district. I plan to continue sending out Friday updates, but if you’re interested in our COVID-19 numbers moving forward, you can visit our COVID-19 dashboard on our website here

It certainly felt a little strange being at school all week this week, but I think it was a welcome change for most of us. It was nice to have a little normalcy this week, and you couldn’t beat the weather.

As you know, activities really begin ramping up in the spring, and Monday evening I am looking forward to the Launching Your Future Event for current 7th and 8th grade students (and their parents/guardians) at MHJH from 6 to 7 p.m.. That same evening, from 4 to 7 p.m., MHHS will host its first-annual course fair where students (and parents/guardians) currently in grades 9-11 can walk around the high school cafeteria and learn more about course offerings. These opportunities for family and community engagement are invaluable, and I am grateful to our staff for helping to support these events and so many others.

Have a wonderful weekend. See you Monday!
